Colby Stiltz is a Rap / Hip-Hop artist who is not scared to speak his mind. Through witty punch lines and intricate wordplay, COLBY conveys a message to all of his fans and all those following.
Born in the State of Vermont, Stiltz moved to Portland, Maine with his family at a very young age. Coming up as many other rappers have, Stiltz was gaining credibility on the streets as well as behind the Mic. Through many battles he continued to surprise the competition. He met with "Chip" Sullivan a Hip-Hop Producer/Engineer/Manager of artist such as Poverty (Boston, Ma), Bad Mannerz (S. Portland, ME) and OBESE(Brooklyn, NY of The Supplyerz).
Although the music scene was budding in Maine, Stiltz returned to Vermont when the lifestyle caught up with him. But quickly after Stiltz returned to Vermont, he began earning a reputation through the same skills he proved worthy in Maine. "Battles"! Through various venues in the Downtown Burlington area throughout 2008 and 2009 Stiltz once again surprised the competition with his witty lyrics and fierce punches. Although Stiltz never won the finals of the Battles in Burlington, he consistently made the final round without having the hometown advantage. Soon after, Stiltz came into contact with many of Burlington's finest musicians. Amongs them are Platinum credited Engineer and "Emcee Nastee", Legendary Burlington spin doctor "DJ Adog", "Dakota of the Home Team", "Mecca", "Burnt MD" and many, many others. With the Burlington scene quickly becoming a haven for musical talent, Stiltz felt this would be the best way to start his Career.
Stiltz began to expand his need for growth and with his partner Kyle "BZ" Hoyt, they created A.S.A.P Ent. (A.Social.Awareness.Project). Through various means such as house parties to charitable and beneficiary events, as well as rocking several hundreds of peoples venues. Stiltz and A.S.A.P ushered in a new day of Hip-Hop in Burlington. Through many Events with Nastee and Nectars Bar and Grille and Club Metronome at True School Wednesdays, Stiltz has had the opportunity of performing with likes of: Termanology of Boston Massachusetts fame, The legendary Beatnuts, Donny Goines (if you haven't heard of him he aint working hard enough), Juice Crew legend Craig G, Little Brothers Big Pooh, Lyrical giant Gift of Gab, Mickey Factz of Jive Records, and Def Squad's Keith Murray, as well as many other locally sponsored and hosted events.
With the Stiltz movement spreading, fast, the future seems to have finally arrived. Now as Stiltz teams up with "MAINES 1 & BEST IN PROMOTION" MAINES RAP, there can only be good things to come from his music and his name. So be on the lookout for COLBY STILTZ!
