John McNeil, better known by the stage name of Interstate Flamez, is an American rapper and songwriter from Boston Massachusetts. On November 18th 1989 in the Dorchester section of the city, a star was born. Raised by his mother in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Boston he was compelled to find his way out and become what no one ever believed he could be, a superstar. His father would always play the Notorious B.I.G on the way from school on days he would spend with him. He was immediately influenced by the song "The Sky Is The Limit" off of Biggie Smalls "Life After Death" album. He began writing full length songs at the age of 12 and believed that he had what it took to be the next teen star. By his mid teenage years an uncle of his, Marc Wilson introduced him to battle rapping on DVDs he would bring home to keep him influenced and off of the street. John quickly fell in love with the sport and began to challenge people to battles, and would eventually become one of the best in his city. On May 26th, 2006 one of his biggest influences, Marc Wilson, was shot and killed leaving the teen with no answers. 5 months later, losing one his closest friends to youth violence motivated the 17 year old more than ever. He joined a youth force called teen empowerment, which helps keep teens off of the streets as well as gives them the opportunity to let their voices be heard. He would write songs addressing how violence affected his life and people noticed the pain behind his lyrics. For once people were actually listening because he had a story to tell. He was then given the opportunity to perform these songs at a various amount of events gaining the respect of his peers and the heart of his elders. Overcoming the obstacles the streets put forward he graduated high school and took his talents to college. In Bangor Maine he met with producers Rob McCormack and Joe Visciano to form 4 on 6 productions. They worked on his first original mixtape called "Still Feel Me". His supporters and fans loved his music and the production on the project and his following grew by large amounts, fast. Leaving school in Maine after his freshman year he was forced to part ways with 4 on 6 and start a new journey. He then began his own label and music group entitled "Jayside Entertainment". Being in Maine so long he had to re ensure his city of Boston that he was still "The Chosen One" releasing his next mixtape entitled "The Reason I'm Here". Taking a slight break from the mixtapes and recording he dominated the battle scene in Boston before his ambition kicked backed in. Being the hardworking man that he is, he released his mixtape "Everyday A Star Is Born" under the Jayside Entertainment imprint on March 25th 2010. This mixtape gained the respect and following of tons of new fans and supporters. He hosted his first ever mixtape release party and received a management offer from Reginald Charles of Rhoaming Music group. The two quickly signed and got to work releasing his first single entitled "Welcome To Boston" in the summer of 2010. He has now respectably parted ways with Rhoaming Music Group and has self- pronounced himself THE HOTTEST IN THE CITY. He most recently finished his latest mixtape and what is said to be a classic "The Making Of Me", which is due to be released in early April. He believes that this mixtape that sounds like an album is what will give him his rise to stardom.
