About me

Tru-L a.k.a "Truest Realist Undisputed Lyricist" was born on June 8, 1987 in Boston Massachusetts. Growing up in the neighborhood of Mattapan and being around other local artist’s from the area Tru-L decided he wanted to become an artist himself. At the age of fourteen he then hit the local music scene by featuring on mixtapes from Boston dj’s. With the the backing of his mother two years later in 2003 Tru-L released his first solo mixtape "Mattapan Is The Streets".

In 2004 Tru-L released his second solo mixtape "New England Patriot". Shortly after he then started traveling state to state to showcase his talent and sell his mixtapes. Discovering three more Boston artist in 2005 they formed "Fatal Family" which included himself, Fza Tha Ghetto Prince, Ms. Haze, and Main Event. In 2006 the group released their first mixtape called "Bloody Roar Vol. 1". Already making moves on the road Tru-L included the rest of his group members to join him on stage while opening up shows for mainstream artist’s one being former "Diplomat Recording Artist Juelz Santana".

After catching the ears of former ’Diplomat Recording Artist Hell Rell" Tru-L was able to negociate his own contract in 2007 and release his third mixtape "Tha General" hosted by his mentor Hell Rell himself. Becoming the protege of Diplomats and still remaining loyal to his original team he still included "Fatal Family on features that involed himself and Diplomats. Being a CEO of his own company "Fatal Entertainment". Tru-L promoted his own artist on dvds, radio stations, websites, magazines, and in the streets.

In 2008 Tru-L was featured in the August issue of the Source magazine which also included other Boston artist’s for having the hottest sixteen coming out of Boston. With the release of his fourth solo mixtape "Closed Mouth’s Dont Get Fed Hosted By J Saki". In the same month he dropped his single B’s On My Fitted which earned national radio play on Jam ’N 94.5 Launchpad with Dj On & On. September 7, 2008 Tru-L was arrested. After serving 18 months in the Suffolk County House of Corrections he was released.
